+ Flowers (naturally) blossom again :)
Spring has come! The picture of sakura (cherry blossom) for you from my front yard.

Every year it blossoms. It didn't blossom as it should because it was really cold in one Spring. But every year, as long as it lives, it shows the beauty of the nature.

It won't last long. Before you know, the flowers are all gone but the tree stands there as if nothing happened. This tree just stands there. And spend the rest of the year as the time goes. And it will entertain us with its beauty again in the next Spring.

This is so easy for the nature. They just do their parts. They don't care what we think about them. They just live. Just like the quote from The Last Samurai on the sakura picture. Hope you like it.

In this newsletter, I would like to share one of my findings that took me 25 years to realize. Enjoy!

Effective Kendo, Effortless Movements
Feeling clumsy? Feeling pain?
Are you looking for more effective way to do kendo?

Hell Yes! I am!

I am turning to 43 years. You think I am still young...number wise. But my shoulders are screwed. My back is messed up. Haven’t been able to do kendo for a half year due to my back injury.

What would you do if you were in my position? It depends on how bad injuries would be. Let’s see what may be the “general” process.
  1. Rest till Heal
  2. Physical Therapy
  3. Getting back into training
This may be good enough to get back into non-kendo activities. But if you want to do kendo, you shouldn’t do things in the same ways that hurt you.
Want to Learn New Ways of Moving Body?
I have no intention to quit kendo. But if I don’t change the way I move, I will get injured again.

My back injuries involves sliding disks (a little bit), squashed disks (i.e. absorb less impact)  and bilateral pars fractures. I am working on the process mentioned above but it is not enough.
Bring Revolution to Your Body
No.1: Increase Shoulder Endurance and Lift Up the Sword Effortlessly
Very easy to do.

Turn your wrists so your palms are facing toward your opponent. That is all you do.

This simple movement remove unnecessary tension in your shoulders.

This is actually one of the teachings from the late Tsurumaru sensei. It took me more than 25 years (as of 2016) to figure out why we should “turn your palms toward your opponent when lifting up the shinai”.

This finding is one of many unsaid teachings in this simple movement. I’m not sure how long more it would take me to figure out other goodies from this simple movement. But you didn’t need to spend 25 years to figure this out!

Check out the video as well if you are good at learning from watching.

Legacy: One Generation to Another
Kendo is my passion. Sharing kendo teachings with you is simply my reason to live.

The teachings I share is from my senseis. And these teachings were from their senseis. These teachings have been passed on to me. And now to you. That is legacy.

The legacy lives on. And I want to give the legacy I received to you.

If you have a dollar to spare every month and use it to support me, that will give me more time to spend to create the contents with the legacy to give you.

Even if you don't have a dollar to spare, I will keep making contents as long as I can.

Without you, I am really nothing. So I appreciate that you read this newsletter!
