Applaud the World Kendoists! |
Did you see what you wanted to see? Most of you probably know the results of the 16th WKC. If you don't you can check it here.
I just want to say "Thank You" to the kendoists who showed us their great kendo at the champs.
I was not at the venue. I was
watching some fights through the Ustream All Japan Kendo Federation Channels. So it was very hard to see in detail.
Still I think sensei who refereed did a very good job and the competitors showed nice and clearn kendo.
Overall, I personally liked the kendo I saw in this World Champs.
What I liked the most... |

What a beautiful bow. It is performed by Mr. Bosak from Poland. According to the article, this bow was shown after he lost. He is bowing to the court he fought.
Don't you think this is kendo?
To anyone, it is hard to accept their loss even when their opponent was the winner of the previous All Japan Kendo
Championship.
I am sure Mr. Bosak did his best and yet he did not want to lose. But after his fight, he showed his respect.
It does not matter how strong you can become, if you forget this, then you are just getting weaker.
Thank you, Mr. Bosak, for showing a great attitude of kendo.
And another photo to share.
交剣知愛 (Koken Chiai: Love Through Swords) |
After the fight, everyone has a smile on their face and looking for their friends and even their opponents for new
friendship.
No fights in this video but just fellow kendoists walking around and talking to each other from different countries.
I loved it. Simply loved it. Through kendo, we learn many things. And my answer is this: Koken Chiai.
If we can recognize "love" through crossing the swords, then the world can truly unite.
That is why we need to respect each other. We need to learn a lot of things to suppress our ego and step back to think if
our action will help others or not.
"As long as I am happy" is important but if that makes you a selfish individual then we need to step back and think about it.
I hope you enjoyed the World Champ too!

This online course consists of step by step lessons on the basics using the Kendo Basics I, II and III.
This is great for beginners to review what they learned at their dojo or those who do not have a dojo to attend.
This is made so people do not misunderstand what kendo is and can learn kendo properly.

Making such kendo contents as videos and articles take time.
I have thought to quit kendo informative videos and articles and to shut down all the kendo websites, because it is a time and
money consuming task.
If you like my work and what I do to provide you with the kendo contents, please consider to support me.
